Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a child she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma had a dream to become a professional actor since she was aged six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute which offers classes for part-time students. At the age of 10, she had already taken part in a variety of Stagecoach productions and plays. The casting process began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. After eight auditions consistently, director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It was also one of the top-rated films in 2001. The opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance by three principal young actors. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the film.
